Here’s hoping that Second Avenue line finishes ahead of schedule (way ahead), before it gets to this:

PS - Remind me never to work a 9-5 in Japan.

Amazing.

Have you ever gone away on vacation for a few days, had a good time, come home and think, “Wow, that went by too fast. It’s like I was never on vacation.”

Have you ever gone away on vacation for a few days, had a great time, and before you ever get home you think, “Wow, I had an amazing time.”

Needless to say, the latter happens a lot less often than the former. It’s not that the former was a bad time. Not at all. It could be that you were going through the motions just to rest between busy work schedules. It could be that you just weren’t in the right mindset going in, coming out or during the trip. Whatever the reason, these vacations you remember, but they’re not particularly memorable.

This time, however, I received a gift. The past four and a half days have been really fantastic (save for the few hours of melodrama Friday night). But on my way back from the lake house (pictures up soon), I felt exactly what I explained for the second vacation. Simple. But memorable.

And, it’s not as this was an extravagant furlough. Many times, those are the ones that fall into that first category, if for no other reason than you’ve built expectations too high. It was a simple trip, to spend quality times with good friends. Nothing more.

I will post more later when I get home (Yes, I’m still technically on vacation. I jump on Amtrak tomorrow. See? What’d I tell you?), I just couldn’t get how great a time I had this weekend, and thought you should know.

Even if you didn’t want to know.

My Blog? Yes.

Your choice of topic? Nope.

And stuff.
